The Waters is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our integrated team of community professionals!

The Registered Nurse (RN) is part of an integrated team of community professionals who ensure the health and safety of our residents through presence and physical, emotional, and relational care. The Waters care model is based on the principles of integrated nursing, including but not limited to, provides resident care, assists with designing and fulfilling care based on individual resident's assessment, and leads teams of Resident Assistants (RA) in the provision of excellent care. Different from many traditional roles, the RN at The Waters engages in hands-on care, develops close relationships with residents and families, and leads by example for our unlicensed caregivers and volunteers.

We are currently hiring for days, evenings and overnights; both full-time and part-time available!

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Lead the interdisciplinary care team in implementing the strategies of integrated nursing, creates relationships with residents and families, utilizes and teaches integrated therapies of each resident's care plan
  • Completes Support Plan on future residents to assess a care and service Plan recommendations
  • Leads by example, models healthy personal behaviors for the care teams and continually coaches the team to achieve results of wellbeing for residents and team members
  • Engages with resident and anticipates their holistic needs
  • Documents resident status, including but not limited to, therapies utilized, significant change in condition such as falls, difficulty with administering medications, emotional, mental, behavioral or physical changes, and any action by the nurse in response to the therapy, change, or the incident
  • Prepares, administers, assesses effectiveness, and documents self-administration of medications, medication administration, and treatments performed as prescribed
  • Provides oversight, support, encouragement, and supervision to all skilled clinical services, ensuring that all required resident documentation is completed in an accurate and thorough manner
  • Investigates and reports suspected resident abuse or neglect per regulations immediately
  • Audits nursing practices for compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and enforce community policies and procedures to ensure standards of care are met

Requirements for a Registered Nurse (RN) at The Waters:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing by the state in which the community is located required
  • 2+ years of general nursing experience; geriatric nursing experience preferred
  • Completion of or ability to complete Department-approved Training of standard precautions, fire safety, first aid and choking
  • Working knowledge of all applicable state and federal regulations, including the Home Care Bill of Rights
  • Knowledge of medication administration and performance of treatments
  • Knowledge of and willingness to learn advanced therapies for memory care
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Commitment to hospitality, service, and excellence in senior care
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication in English
  • Ability to be flexible with hours'/shift schedules and assignments
